Five
members of the Sentient Temple descended upon Belize with enthusiasm
and zeal. During our ten day stay we meet with many other Shaman and
herbal healers. Fern our own Herbologist and Naturopathic Doctor,
was a wealth of information and guided us well throughout our
adventure. The Belizean’s are very open to herbal healing and Reiki.
During
our Spiritual Journey we visited many ruins, and felt right at home
as we did our rituals of greeting the day, and thanking the deities
for all of our good fortune. We were not surprised when we drew a
crowd, and were questioned by the locals as well as tourists. The
main question was when could they come to our Temple and learn what
we do. The Sentient Temple has a growing following in Belize.
As
is the Temple way, we show gratitude for everything and one evening
we asked that the entire staff at the hotel be given the night off
as we were cooking and serving everyone. The dinner was a great
success and everyone was surprised that we could not only cook, but
cook well.
We
shared much time with the local people, shared food and exchanged
information about healing, and herbs. Much time was spent with other
Shaman, again speaking about philosophy and the healing power of
Reiki as was practiced by the Maya.
The Sentient Temple is developing fifty acres of Rain Forest and
a teaching school for Reiki and Herbology, which will include not
only the conventional herbal medicine taught here in the States but
also well marked trails though the Rain Forest marking all the
various herbs used in jungle medicine. This very interesting
Herbology will also be taught, along with Usui/Mayan Reiki, Karuna
Reiki and Shambala Reiki. Volunteers, teachers and donations are
always welcome. Help us help others. We are in particular need of a
good volunteer architect, to design our teaching/living/Center.
